Brewery horse and cart, workers and two children outside on a cobbled road. Located on Queen Street, New Plymouth. The workers and children have been identified as, from left to right, Mr I. Inch, Mr John Newton Johnson, Sydney Lovell, Thomas Spicer Lovell, Norman Lovell, Mr Wilson (the brewer) and possibly Mr J. Trigger (the drayman).

Thomas Spicer LOVELL's second wife was Mary Ann BLANCHARD whom he married in 1885. Two of their children were Norman and Sidney LOVELL. Mary Ann was the only sister of my grandfather David BLANCHARD.

Mr J Johnson (John Newton)was my grandmother Ethel's father. He was born In Burton-On-Trent in England before immigrating to New Zealand. He married Amelia Caroline Stiles who had arrived as a very young child with her parents. They married and lived in Devon St New Plymouth. They had 5 children Ethel, Eileen Harold Myra and Bert who attended West End School.
