Dulcie Richards, wearing a lavender sweatshirt, trackpants and blue socks, standing on the wooden stairs outside her pale blue weatherboard bach. The door to the bach is open and a large pohutukawa tree frames the left side of the image. In the foreground there is a low concrete wall with steps down to the beach, with driftwood piled up against it. (Dulcie's bach later burnt down)
