Studio portrait of Frederick "Bob" Arthur Tanner of Fitzroy, New Plymouth. He wears three piece suit with floral spray in lapel button hole and sits on a carved stool.

Son of Eleanor and Frederick Tanner. A member of the Fitzroy Fire Brigade. Was killed in action in World War One on 16th April, 1918 and buried in Somme, France. He is commemorated on the memorial gates at Fitzroy Primary School.

This is Frederick "Bob" Arthur Tanner of Fitzroy. Son of Eleanor and Frederick Tanner. He was in the Fitzroy Fire Brigade prior to WW1. He was killed in action on 16th April, 1918, and is buried in Somme, France. So perhaps this was taken just before he left. He's on the AWMM cenotaph. He is the "F.A. Tanner" on the memorial gates at Fitzroy Primary School, along with his brother- William Henry Tanner who was killed in action in 1915.
