Charters and Guthrie photograph album containing 39 photographs of the Honorable David S. Thomson's visit to the Discoverer II oil rig on 28 September 1968. All photographs are numbered, corresponding to an index glued into the back of the album. On the second page of the album, a page is glued that says "Presented To Hon. D. S. Thomson. A memento of your visit to Discoverer II on September 28th 1968. With this rig, Esso drilled New Zealand's first offshore well In 520 feet of water, 52 miles Northwest of New Plymouth".
