My father left Napier on MVTaranaki in 1951 as ships surgeon, en route to London to get his Fellowhjp of the Royal College of Surgeons. I was 1 year old at the time and went to london on a slightly more comfortable boat with Mum

HI EVERY ONE, DID A COASTAL FROM AVONMOUTH TO LONDON,BEFORE HER TRIP TO THE BREAKERS. FRED & THE BOYS REMOVED ALL THE SPARE PAINT. BRASS BEARINGS ETC. IN HIND SIGHT SHOULD HAVE TAKEN THE FRIDGE FLAT CLOCK. TREV
