A French Colonial Medal (Médaille Coloniale). The silver medal features a helmeted female facing left representing the French Republic." REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE " is marked around it. The reverse features a globe at the centre with an anchor and various weapons and foliage behind it. " MEDAILLE COLONIALE " is marked beneath the globe. The medal is attached to a green and white striped vertical ribbon by an ornamental bar attached to a laterally pierced barrel suspension.
