Description
Charter signed 28 September 1893 by the Colonial Secretary, P.A. Buckley, authorising the existence of the Taranaki Club under the Licensing Act 1881.
This charter legally allowed the third, more successful, attempt to operate the Taranaki Club. The Club was formed in 1892 and remained in operation until circa 1995, when it merged with the New Plymouth Commercial Travellers Club to form Club Taranaki. The Taranaki Club was first formed in 1842; it is not known when this club ceased operating. A second attempt was made in 1861, the Club lasted until 1865.
