Description
Copy artwork based on William Strutt's sketches of Te Pou Tutake (known as the Fitzroy Pole), including the sketch 'Fitzroy's Pole, Taranaki, close to Bell Block' (1856), all of which are held in the Alexander Turnbull Library. The sketch includes three views of the pou. One of William Henry Skinner's diaries includes a note about commissioning the sketch, which reads: "Posted cheque in letter to W.G. Harding for £5.1.0, for cost of 3 pictures, copies of some of Strutts drawings in Turnbull Library, dealing with N. Plymouth in 1855" (entry dated 13 September 1921).
