Description
A wooden puzzle toy with central piece of wood through which piece of rope is looped. Two circular discs are fed through the piece of rope. The aim is to transfer one of the wooden rings on to the same rope loop as the other, and then separate them again.

Gunnar
Berger
was
a
Swedish
immigrant
to
Eltham,
who
moved
here
with
his
family
and
originally
worked
at
the
lactose
factory
there.
However,
Gunnar
started
to
make
Meccano-like
toys
and
when
he
left
the
lactose
factory,
the
family
converted
their
basement
into
a
toy
making
studio
and
the
burgeoning
company
went
from
strength
to
strength.
Gunnar and his family tapped in to a need for good quality educational toys, and sold many of his designs to schools in the region. This later developed in to mail order around New Zealand, then on to Australia, Sweden and the USA.
However, the arrival of the Rubik's Cube and rising fuel and postage costs in the late 1970s and early 1980s meant the factory closed in 1983.
