Doll, Mechanical
Description
A simple mechanical doll made up of a tin face depicting a man wearing a glasses and hat. There are two flat tin plates behind the face. One of these is pierced and has holes are covered with coloured cellophane. Another plate is covered with a sandpaper type substance. The doll is fitted with a gear operated plunger. When the plunger is compressed it was designed to make the plates revolve, coloured lights to flash across the eyes, and sparks to come out the mouth. It is doubtful whether it still works as designed. " MADE IN GERMANY " is marked on the reverse.
