Zeelos, Jon

Production date
In 1968, Jon Zeelos travelled throughout New Zealand with mobile theatre in which adult shows were performed. These performances were based on women posing, imitating classic nude art works. Admission was two pounds and the minimum age of those attending was 21 years.
The collection consists of a letter to the New Plymouth Town Clerk requesting permission to park the trailer and perform the show, a letter to the local Jaycees asking for support, a programme, complete with illustrations and explanations of the changing roles and attitudes of women in the 1960s and a letter of refusal from the New Plymouth District Council.
