Description
A red motorcycle helmet with a brim at the front. The helmet features a flap below the crown and has a white chin strap and buckle. It is lined with foam and flannel plaid. "The/Lifeguard/ Roadster/ MANUFACTURED BY/ NOEL DALY/NEW PLYMOUTH" is written on a label sewn on the centre of the webbing.

This helmet was given to Frances Grundy by New Plymouth manufacturer Noel Daly in 1954 while she was working part time at his factory. Most of the helmets manufactured during this time were either white or black. This helmet is red because there was a portion of fabric left over from another project.
