Production date
1962
Description
A miniature Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) medal. The silver medal consists of a flory cross surmounted by a crown. A medallion at the centre of the cross features Queen Mary and King George V surrounded by the motto "FOR GOD AND THE EMPIRE." The medal is attached to a rose pink ribbon edged with grey. The medal is mounted as part of a group of seven. The medal is accompanied by a faded green case with a lift off lid. The crest of the Royal New Zealand Armoured Corps is featured on the lid of the case. The interior of the case is lined with red fabric with a depression to fit the large pin mounted at the reverse. The case would not have been the original one designed to hold the medal set.
