" KAPUNI PLANT OPENING / PETROCHEM / UREA / N / RICH / GRANULAR NITROGEN FERTILISER 46%N / Registered Fertiliser / Petrochemical Corporation of N.Z. Limited, / Kapuni, New Zealand. " is written on a paper label on the front. A small kiwi with " NEW ZEALAND MADE " written under it is written near the bottom of the label. A label on the reverse gives instructions for application.

This commemorative bag of fertiliser was given to the MP for Taranaki David Thomson at the opening of the Kapuni ammonia-urea plant in 1982. The plant was one of the ' Think Big ' projects promoted by the the National government. Ballance Agri-Nutrients currently operates the plant which produced 257,000 tonnes of fertiliser in 2007.
