A small clear glass bottle with straight shoulders, a short neck and a metal screw cap. The paper label on the front reads " St. Thomas / BAY RUM / For the Hair / Distilled from / SUGAR CANE AND / BAY LEAVES / Manufactured by / H.F. Apparently, this popular product was stocked in major chains like McKenzies and Self-Help up until the 1970s.

Gallien in Dunedin also manufactured this product, so I am not sure who originated it and whether it was a license for one or the other. As time went on more and more of Gallien's business was in manufacturing via their Alandale proprietary so it's hard to say. This product was popular though and stocked in major chains like McKenzies, Self-Help etc; it was still around into the 1970s so was on the market for decades.
